Aruna Peri, MS, RD, CDE

Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator

Hi there! I am a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Educator by profession with an educational background in nutrition & food process engineering. After completing my Master’s, I started my career working in the Food Industry, developing and improving the quality of a variety of food products. My passion has always been on the integrative and functional aspects of food & nutrition and the positive effect that it has on our overall well-being. With this passion, I embarked on my career in the healthcare sector.

I see the Food Dichotomy (good food vs. bad food) almost every day in my practice. While we must be mindful of this dichotomy, we must remind ourselves that food is beyond nutrition.  I am a big proponent of the holistic approach to food and strive to empower a healthier relationship with food.

Research has shown that the “cookie cutter approach” or “all or none approach” to foods does not help to enhance individuals’ wellness. I will work with you to provide personalized recommendations, and customized meal plans that will meet your nutritional needs, promote satiety and offer a wide variety.

Clinical focus: Vegetarianism, Prevention and Management: Diabetes, Obesity, PCOS, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Personalized Meal Plans, Nutrigenomics

Jennifer Adjei, BSW, MSW, RSW

Registered Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor

Hello, my name is Jennifer Adjei, and I work as a Clinical Social Worker. My friends and family will describe me as caring, passionate, understanding, and supportive. I always had a safe space where I could express my emotions, triggers and coping strategies. I am not perfect; I am human, just like you. The difference between you and me is that I learned tools, skills, theories, modalities, and lessons from my personal and professional life. Daily,  I listen to people’s stories, life choices, accomplishments, and struggles.

Many people have reasons why they made choices that made sense, helped them, or benefited them in the moment. And sometimes, people just need to get a different perspective on how to deal with trauma, triggers, and stress and move forward. Wherever you are in your life journey, let me help you become a better version of yourself. I am happy to do a 15-minute conversation by phone, video or in person, and you can let me know if you want to talk about how you feel the way you do, some behaviours you are doing to cope and maybe come up with better ways to deal with stress and get better results. When everything here is starting to fall apart, I am here to help you put the pieces back together.

Therapy is about unpacking, unlearning, and relearning to be better. Thank you for letting me be part of your story.

Fun fact: My native name, Maame Yaa, means Thursday born.

Clinical Focus: Individual: Anxiety / Depression, Addictions, Stress/lifestyle/health, Bereavement/loss, Workplace issues, Childcare/eldercare resources Relationships: Conflict, Communication, Separation/divorce, Abuse/assault, Parent/child, Couples, Family consultation and referral.
