Carol Soares is a registered social worker/psychotherapist, educator, and equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDIB) consultant with over 28 years of experience. Her holistic, person-centred, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed therapeutic approach prioritizes mind health through integrative, collaborative, and evidence-based modalities such as CBT, EFT, ACT, mindfulness, neuropsychology, narrative, compassion-focused, somatic, IFS, and the Gottman Method.
Carol understands that lives are complex, and our many experiences, encounters, and relationships influence our unique stories. She believes it is possible to access the magnificent inner resources needed to understand and befriend the parts of us that might feel confused, overwhelmed, overextended, anxious, hurt or disconnected.
Carol considers her greatest joy to be her role as parent to two daughters, who are now more independent. Her life mantra continues to be “develop fully, live deeply, and succeed authentically”. Carol’s most distinct idiosyncrasy at home is the family’s shared trait: connecting songs to statements in conversation and singing every moment she can. She’s a lifelong learner and wellness enthusiast, whose favourite movie is “Amal”. Carol believes in the power of collective advocacy and currently serves as the 1st Vice-President of the OASW.
